Changing of the guard at PPAI

The 2007 PPAI Expo is not just important to suppliers and distributors of promotional products. It is also important to the PPAI organizational body. At the conclusion of the 2007 Expo, current Chairman of the Board, Carl Gerlach, will be replaced by Paul Kiewiet. In the following interview Gerlach reflects on 2006 and his expectations for the 2007 Expo. Gerlach said 2006 was a year of evolution for PPAI and the industry. He notes, many people want to see revolutionary change every year but this is not realistic nor should it be desired. Gerlach said, if every year brought revolutionary change to the industry, it would be impossible to conduct business. Instead we should strive for growth and improvement on a y early basis with necessary, progress-oriented, large scale changes infrequently.
