Customizing Quickbooks for Promotional Products Distributors
Question: Are there any reports in QuickBooks that are designed specifically for the ad specialty industry?
Answer: Unfortunately, there are no ad-specialty-specific reports, but all of the reports on QuickBooks can be customized. And some have been put to good use by distributors.
If you have loaded QuickBooks Premier specifying the Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition, go to "Reports," then "Manufacturing and Wholesale Reports," and check out these reports:
- Sales by Product
- Profitability by Item
- Open Sales Orders by Item
Under "Reports" then "Purchases," you might want to take a look at:
- Purchases by Vendor
- Purchases by Item
There is also a "Reports" then "Contributed Reports," which is where other QuickBooks users have shared their custom designed reports which can be further customized.
QuickBooks Premier and Enterprise can be modified to better serve ad specialty distributors.
