Promotions With a Purpose
It isn’t very often that we have an opportunity to make the world a better place with our purchasing decisions, but we have found three companies that are enabling us to do just that. In the spirit of doing the right things, we are highlighting companies and products that give back to the community and the Earth. These product lines are the perfect way to show that your brand cares about sustainability and the welfare of others.
First, let’s talk about UBUNTU, a company that produces hand-made products and donates the proceeds to health and education programs in Kenya. The UBUNTU line features an array of products, many of which can be customized to include your brand, a name personalization or even an inspirational message. From hand-made tote bags to customized bracelets, these products truly embody the spirit of giving back while making a lasting impression on customers.
UBUNTU products give back to health and education programs in Kenya, creating jobs and providing impact in communities on the other side of the world. The UBUNTU model creates a new cycle of livelihood between social business and nonprofit growth, and empowers communities through job creation. The earned and charitable income from UBUNTU Enterprise feeds directly into the well-being of social impact initiatives. UBUNTU products have attracted great attention, and the company has seen friendships grow with partners like (RED), Jimmy Kimmel and Zazzle.
Next, we explored ChicoBag, a unique company with a product line that is made from 100 percent recycled materials and whose mission is to help humanity reduce waste by doing away with the single-use habit. The ChicoBag line is the perfect way to show that your brand cares about sustainability and the welfare of others.
ChicoBag was started when president and founder Andy Keller visited a local landfill and saw a tremendous amount of single-use bags. With that sight engraved in his head, he vowed from then on to stop using single-use bags for good and to help others do the same.
The ChicoBags are designed to fit in a pocket or purse, and also have a carabiner that allows the bag to clip onto a keychain, a belt-loop or purse strap. The eye-catching design of the bags has a demonstrated track-record of creating conversations at the check-out lines of grocery stores and promises a lifespan of at least five years.
Last, we explored a digital promotion called Treecycler that lets customers plant a tree in reforestation projects around the world. MediaTree is a digital reward company that initially had the idea behind Treecycler. It started with a desire to educate and connect people socially and also help them come together and plant trees in reforestation projects worldwide.
Five years and more than 1 million trees planted later, Treecycler has seen great success.
Their product offers a chance to collaborate with others from the convenience of their own home, bringing a new meaning to the “armchair environmentalist”. By partnering with brands on these promotions, clients and customers are able to redeem a code and plant a tree wherever they choose. Offering an easy platform has been a huge part of the program’s success. Whether users are on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop, they can use their Treecycler codes and become educated on their impact of this action on the planet. Treecycler makes it easier than ever before to make a difference.
Promotional products are everywhere you look, why not make a difference and give back to a greater cause with your next purchase?
