The Right Place to Be Proud
To me, it seems like many people choose to stay behind their desks all day because they are too proud to call prospects for appointments.
That’s a real bad place to be proud.
Too proud to pick up the phone and try to make an appointment, too proud to listen to suppliers that want to introduce new products and ideas, too proud to pick up their briefcase and just get out in the field, and too proud to order some self-promotions and go visit some hot prospects or declining/dormant customers.
Hiding behind your desk because you are too proud is a terrible place to be.
Let me encourage you to throw out your pride, pick up the phone and try to make a few appointments. Take a few moments to listen to a new supplier or two, as they might have brilliant ideas. Dust off your briefcase, and get out in the field and visit some folks. Order some self-promotions, and go visit some hot prospects and declining/dormant accounts.
If you do enough of these activities consistently over time, you will find a new sense of pride.
You will find pride while in line at the bank. In fact, if you do enough of these activities well enough and long enough, you won’t wait in line at the bank--the bank will come to you.
The right and only place to be proud is at the bank.
